Baby Shower Tomorrow

Diaper Wreath I made for a baby shower tomorrow. I got one of these at my shower for Kamber and it was so neat!

I just took the wreath base I had and bought a package of size 2 huggies, a bib, a teether, and a bib clippy thing. Tied each diaper around it with lots of curly ribbon! I added a couple of paper-crafted tags that I made with my scrapbook stash of course! It was fun and easy to make!

Mom bought some diapers and wipies and I wrapped those up with a handmade card also.

Yummy December!

Aren't these Reindeer cupcakes just the cutest thing! My friend Lorie made them for our Homeschool Co-op class we have on Fridays.

I found a new recipe for these delicious pecan turtles! Made very simply out of rolos, pecans and pretzels! Easy! Fun! And Oh So Good!

We made these adorable Reindeer Pancakes. Super fun and super easy! Shape the head in an oval shape. Cut the antlers into simple F shapes. Marshmallows and choc chips make the eyes and an M&M completes it all as a nose.

And check out these awesome cookies that my cousin Leigh and her kids made for our family Christmas! I thought they were amazing!

MTM: Thankful for a Bedtime Snack

This week's Muffin Tin Monday was really more of a Muffin Tin TUESDAY for us!

The theme was "Foods That We are Thankful For".

For a Bedtime Snack I quickly filled a tin with several finger foods that I know the kids like. I even tried MTM kabobs for the first time with frilly toothpicks and set it all out in just one tin for a buffet-style. It was a huge hit! It only took a few seconds for them to divvy it all up and the tin to be empty!

This week our tin was filled with:

Top- Scrabble CheeseIt's, Buttered Bread

Middle- Pickles, Cheese Kabobs, Apple Slices, Mandarin Oranges

Bottom- Marshmallows, Weenies, Banana, Fruit Snacks

And Yes, that is Bat-Man scarfing down our Muffin Tin Meal! Please excuse the mess on the table. That's just the remnants of school today :)

Muffin Tin Monday: Breakfast

I'm very excited to share with you our latest Muffin Tin Monday. This week had no theme so I decided to try our first breakfast tin. I also tried doing only one tin split in half for the two of them -so they each got 6 spaces for food.

This week I filled my muffin tins with: peaches, scrambled eggs, star toast, sausage, star cheese and chocolate milk.

Muffin Tin Monday: Fall/Halloween

Yep it's time for another week of Muffin Tin Monday! I was very excited about the Halloween & Fall theme.

This week I filled my muffin tins with:

top- frankenstein and ghost toast (colored with my new food markers), jack o lantern burgers (round turkey burgers topped with pumpkin faces that I cut using just a round glass and freehand faces), cheese-its, ghost lollipop

middle- leaf shaped cheese, macaroni, fall sprinkles (just for color and effect), mandarin oranges

bottom- more halloween sprinkles, candy corn, chocolate pudding with whipped cream ghosts, halloween shaped fruit snacks

This is so much fun! Time to start planning for the next theme: Outer Space!

Our First Muffin Tin Monday!

This being my first week to participate in Muffin Tin Monday I went for easy. This was a cinch since this week had no theme.

I grabbed my muffin tins (which were easy to find becuase hubby had just made some yummy apple muffins over the weekend). I opened up a couple of lunchables, added some extra cheeses, grapes, apple sauce and pickles. I topped if all off with some mini M&Ms and some apple pie bites from a McDonald's apple pie that I had in the fridge.

Super Easy and Super Fun!

Why Homeschool

We debated and researched our schooling options for several months before coming to the conclusion that homeschool was a good fit for our family. We have not come to this decision lightly or without having a full understanding of both the pros and cons of public schools and homeschool. We have read many books and articles about homeschooling and public schooling, as well as consulted many people on both sides of the coin and we believe it to be in the best interest of our family. We feel privileged to live in a time when the practice is so acceptable and the resources are so accessible.

Here are a few of our top reasons for homeschooling:
We can have full control over the quality of our children's education and
are
able to teach them beyond the current scope of public school curriculum.
We can spend quality time with our children anytime we want to instead of
giving the school system the best hours in their day.
We know they are safe and well treated.
We can be the primary influence in our children's lives are and consider it
our responsibility and privilege to train our children and shape their
character.
We can give individualized time, teaching and learning tools and adjust our
teaching style by 3 instead of 23.

How we Proceed
We have chosen the Abeka Kindergarten curriculum as our main program and we will also supplement learning with other resources such as Teach Your Child To Read In 100 Easy Lessons, What Your Kindergarten Needs To Know and The Ultimate Book of Homeschooling Ideas.

Our daily schedule will consist of a structured curriculum learning time in the morning and continuing into the afternoon with structured play, art, music and physical education. The state of Texas requires curriculum to cover the subjects of Math, Reading, Spelling, Grammar and Citizenship.

We feel confident that our children will not miss out on anything with their opportunity for involvement through the home school groups in our area, church activities, and the friendships they have already forged.

We have joined a very active homeschool group which consists of over 400 local area families. They provide plenty of opportunity for socialization, extra curricular learning activities, and field trips. They have weekly park days, science labs, sports and more.

Looking to the Future
Many of the finest colleges are now actively recruiting homeschoolers because they tend to be more self motivated and actively involved in community service and extracurricular activities. It also doesn't hurt that they tend to score 30% better on yearly standardized tests and 45% higher on the SATs.

Our goal is to create self confident life-long learners who are self directed and know how to find the answers they need to live happy and productive lives. We truly believe that we can give our children a more enriching education where higher standards are set both academically and socially.

Welcome to my blog! My name is Kimberly and I am the wife of an amazingly loving and supportive husband and a stay at home mommy to three fantastic children ages six, four and one!

The passions in my life are creating magical memories with my family and documenting those memories in heartfelt scrapbooks!

So please sit back and allow me to share with you snippets of my life thru some
my favorite crafts: scrapbooking and papercrafting of all
kinds. If inspiration hits then I'll also share other crafty ideas such
as fun food, home decor ideas, and crafts for kids!

I also absolutely love being a consultant for Close To My Heart! I can't wait to
share some exciting news, specials, and opportunities from them. I'll be telling
my story in the coming days of how CTMH changed the way I scrapbook! I can't
wait to share with you how much more productive, inspired and happy I am with
CTMH and their coordinating products in my corner!

I plan to post some blog series that follow a specific theme such as:
